When I received my Honorable Discharge from the USMC in June 1991, upon leaving Iraq/the Gulf War I joined the auto glass industry. Paying my dues I worked my way up from warehouse & driver to glass technician. Employed by this industries larger glass companies I learned what I liked, and what I didn't like. I hated and worried that the "lick em & stick em" mentality did NOT provide customer's with safe, quality installations. When warranties came around I saw many get the run-around.
As an employee those glass shops didn't want quality, they wanted quantity. No-shows were common. We were stressed, overworked, underpaid and exhausted. The owners were getting filthy rich gouging the customers, and ripping off and bribing insurance agents/companies. While us techs worried about our customer's safety! The crime is, all this is still happening today. But I determined "If I ever own my own glass shop, I will NEVER do these things". And, that is exactly what I have done with J and L Auto Glass.
